Karine Hains: Slow and Steady Wins the Race Niemi wasn't ready but his teammates weren't either...

If the Habs are going to hit a wall and start falling back, then this us the perfect time to do it - before the trade deadline. Hopefully this solidifies MB's "not going to trade the farm" promise. Of course, he might just panic and do something stupid to try to get the team back into the top 8.

The Habs did better than anyone expected so far this season, so let's just enjoy the fact they played some good hockey and waive to Carolina and the Pens as they pass us in the standings.

Niemi faced 9 shots and 6 got by him

Actually he only let in 3 on the 9 shots.

I agree that they did better than expected but I still want them to make the playoffs. I don't see MB trading the farm, not even worried about it.

He won't trade the farm, but he might pull the trigger to help his team make the playoffs now.

Always be carefull what you wish for when you start to cheer against your team.

Carolina will hit a wall in March, pretty tough schedule... including a home and home vs the Caps and Pens, games in Tampa, Boston, Nashville and Colorado

don't know if that's the case. they lost to better teams in Tampa and Nashville but before that they were playing some solid hockey. last night was disappointing but they blew their load in the first half of the game by constantly chasing from behind. the ice tilted toward the end of the second and Montreal had nothing left.

What I like is that two weeks ago Montreal Media were basically telling people to buy their their little Habs car flags, and now they are not making the playoffs

It's going to be a battle to the finish.

Oh I'm not cheering against them I just want them to stick to the reset plan. There's no winning the cup now so now moves are not necessary

I'd trade Lehkonen and a 2nd for Puljujarvi.

I said the same thing elsewhere. Might be worth the gamble. Lehkonen is losing value more and more...

It's a tough call.... Puljujarvi has had an even harder time finding the back of the net than Lehkonen has, but there's lots to like about him and if you make that trade and he busts out, you look like a damn genius
